NPP HAMBURG ELECTS NEW EXECUTIVES

The Hamburg Chapter of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) over the weekend elected new officers to lead the party for the next four years. The keenly-contested elections saw the following people emerge as winners.

The chairmanship position was won by Mr Augustine Kofi Opoku with Oheneba Oduro-Opuni as the Vice-Chairman. Mr Agya Owusu-Ansah was elected Secretary and has Mr Bright Ntim-Agyemang as his Assistant. The Organiser's position went to Mr Randy Manu-Gyamerah and he is assisted by Miss Evelyn Garbah. Mrs Patience Schmidt and Mrs Evelyn Boakye Nyameyede both retained their positions as Women's Organiser and Deputy Women's Organiser respectively. Mr Clement Brako Akomea takes charge of the finances (treasurer) of the party while Mrs Juliet Akua Czwalina becomes his assistant. The position of Youth Organiser went to Mr Maxwell Oduro-Asare.

Addressing the gathering after the elections, Mr Kwaku Anane-Gyinde, National Organiser of NPP-Germany urged the old and new executives to unite and work together for the greater good and success of the party adding “in whatever we do, we should be mindful of the fact that the interest of our party should take precedence over individual and personal interests”

Mr Anane-Gyinde reminded all members, supporters and sympathisers of the NPP that the task of winning the 2016 elections is and remains the most important single goal and objective that should pre-occupy the minds, spirit and energy of every member of the party

According to him, the NPP need to win the 2016 elections to rescue Ghana from the current economic crisis brought about by an incompetent and clueless government that is more interested in looting and sharing rather than providing solutions to the problems facing the country.

The NPP activist noted that corruption has become so pervasive under the Mahama-led government to the extent that $600 million can disappear from the bank of Ghana, Gh 247 Million vanishes from Workers Pension Contribution, $90 Million meant for Atuabo Gas Project evaporates from the Ministry of Finance and Gh 29 Million budgetary allocation for the National Health Insurance get stolen and nobody is held accountable for this daylight robbery.

Mr Anane-Gyinde insisted that Ghanaians are yearning for a change and they expect the NPP to bring about that change in 2016 and said the NPP has a duty and indeed the responsibility by responding to the legitimate expectation and aspirations of Ghanaians.

The National Organiser urged all NPP local chapters in Germany to come out with their programme of activities in respect of membership drive and fundraising to enable the NEC to incorporate such programmes into the national programme.
