Edumadze Inflates Prices By $10,000

The Central Regional branch of the NDC has called on President John Agyekum Kufuor to institute a committee to probe the purchase of 55 pieces of air-conditioners from Super Care Limited by the Central Regional Minister, Mr Isaac Edumadze, which were originally priced at $70,000 but later inflated to $80,000.

In a statement issued on Friday in Accra by the party and signed by its Director of Operations, the NDC said the Regional Minister inflated the prices of the 2.5 and 3 horse power split airconditioners and transferred the differences of $10,000 to Silver Star Ltd., Accra, where the (Minister) had deposited his MP car loan of $20,000 to bring his total payment to the car agents to $30,000 and which enabled him to purchased a 'C' Class Benz that he is currently using.

The Party expressed surprise that the Kufuor administration is unconcerned about “the corrupt act by Isaac Edumadze in this era of zero tolerance” and therefore called on the President to dismiss the Minister “for he is a disgrace to the NPP government.”
