Agona Swedru, July 2, GNA- A gas explosion at Agona Swedru, has killed the Manager of Tropical Gas Company Limited, Mr Alex Macaiyah and injured three others.
Mr Macaivah, sustained severe burns after the explosion and died two days after he was rushed to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital. Madam Juanah Anobil 83, and her two grand children: Cecilia Mensah and Kofi Nyamekye also suffered severe burns and are still on admission at the Hospital.
Mr Raymond Essel son of Madam Anobil and an eye- witness to the incident, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Agona Swedru, on Thursday that the deceased was repairing a defective gas cylinder when it caught fire and exploded.
The deceased was first admitted at Winneba Government Hospital where he was transferred to Korle Bu when his health deteriorated. Mr Alex Addae, Swedru District Police Commander told the GNA that Police are carrying out investigations to unravel the cause of the accident.
