Accra, June 30, GNA - The Ministry of Roads and Transport has programmed and undertaking rehabilitation and routine maintenance on a number of roads in the Eastern, Central, and Volta Regions this year. Dr. Richard Anane, Minister of Roads and Transport told Parliament on Wednesday when answering questions.
He mentioned some of the roads in the Eastern Region as Asesewa-Nkankama-Obooho road in the Fanteakwa District, Begoro-Obooho-Abooso road, Koforidua-Asesewa road and Asesewa-Dorminase-Abooso road in the Afram Plains. In the Central Region the Minister said the Anomabo town road would be considered when the tarring of Saltpond town roads has been completed.
On the Anfoega-Wuve-Awate-Tornu road in the Volta Region, Dr. Anane said, work on the road was commenced in February, this year and was expected to be completed by February, 2005, adding that to date, 20 percent of works had been completed. 30 June 04
