Cape Coast, June 28, GNA - Mr Kofi Koranteng, Chairman of the Central Region branch of Chemical Sellers Association on Thursday called on chemists to desist from selling drugs to people without prescription from the hospitals.

He said the issue of drugs to people without prescription contravenes the regulations of the association and warned that members caught in this act would be sanctioned.

Mr Koranteng made the appeal at a day's workshop organised by the association in conjunction with Tobinco Pharmaceutical Company, Accra, to update the knowledge of participants on new drugs introduced to the market by the company at Cape Coast.

The drugs are Imazole, Albite Zinvite, Alaxin, GVFLUC, ALVITE and SONWAT "A" for the treatment of malaria and skin diseases. He advised them to always keep their shops tidy and treat customers with care and love.

The workshop was attended by 200 members of the association, drawn from the Cape Coast Municipality and the Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem Districts.
