The Second Lady,Matilda Amissah Arthur has said youth empowerment through education remain one of the best ways for the county's Socio economic development, so that the youth become our future leaders.

Matilda Amissah Arthur, a Professional librarian over the years has made constant effort at seeing that children, not only enroll, but also read and complete school and prayed that God will continue to assist in the noble venture. .

Matilda Amissah Arthur made the statement on Friday when she donated assorted books, a computer and a standby power for EP Primary School in the Ketu North District in the Volta region

Donating the books the Second Lady called on the teachers and pupils to make good use of the books by reading as a learning tool to aid the children

The Second Lady said she has a passion and mission to see that young girls and boys get educated in the country,

She's someone who loves children and through her NGO, Reading for Life, has consistently organized reading clinics and given out free books for school children and has over the years.

Mrs. Matilda knows that education will empower women and help to increase their roles in leadership, the economy, and development arenas.

She understands that books are a key part of a good education. so will continue to partner government with books and educational facilities.

The Second Lady also took her environmental crusade to the school and educated the audience both school children, teachers and the chiefs the need to be clean and live in clean environment to avoid cholera.

Mrs. Matilda Amissah Arthur, also took the opportunity to visit some registration centre's at the EP primary school where the voter register was been exhibited.

The headmaster of the School thanked the Second Lady for the kind gesture especially choosing the school among others for such a donation.

He said the EP Church in the community has viewed education, health and sanitation as vital tool for moral, physical and spiritual development of the people, hence the provision of educational facilities is a priority of the church aimed at ensuring that all children especially the girl child is not denied access to quality education.
