New Patriotic Party's (NPP) 144,000 delegates in 275 constituencies have voted to elect the preferred aspirant out of the three illustrious candidates, to lead the party into victory in the 2016 Presidential elections. Our congratulations message goes to all our Polling Station Agents, our courageous Delegates, our most dedicated NPP Parliamentarians, our hard working Party Officials, all the three able-Flagbearer aspirants and to our great party, the NPP as a whole.

We congratulate you for your overwhelming victory at this Presidential Primaries. We hope your landslide victory will help you unite the party by nursing all wounds created by friendly bullets along the lines. This you know can strengthen and unify us to victory in 2016. Everybody, even some in the opposition parties members have been crying for NANA, because we know what you stand for and what you can do.

To quote only two of your citations:
(1) 9/10/2014, Letters to the delegates of the NPP Presidential Primaries;

“ If elected as the flag bearer of our party I will listen to your views and the campaign will be prosecuted from the polling station. I will draw on the talents and enthusiasm of our members and the structures at all levels of the party to lead us into victory”

(2) 1998, Speech delivered on the election day at the Sunyani Congress;

“I for my part will do everything possible to promote our unity and will ensure that if indeed I am the choice today, all my fellow aspirants will work hand-in-glove with me to realize the vision of the pioneers of our movement who sought to build a free, just and prosperous society”. You could do it by uniting all your fellow aspirants in 2008 and 2012, so we believe you can do it better this time.

We know that you can strive to do “the impossible” which you have demonstrated in your past political life. You used your law practice to champion the cause of human rights, rule of law, justice, freedom of speech and democracy.

You broke the 'culture of silence' in Ghana when nobody or a few citizens could speak out against the 'almighty Rawlings' oppressive regime in 1992. You were one of the initiators of the “Kumi Preko” civil unrests of the Alliance for Change (AFC), the political pressure group in 1995. You were the General Secretary of the broad-based Peoples Movement for Freedom that opposed strongly Gen. Acheampong's UNIGOV Policy, which eventually led to his overthrow, to say but the least. You have proved beyond all reasonable doubt that you are incorruptible and that you have Ghana, your beloved country at heart.

Hopes are now very high that, you are the only one who can bring Ghana back on its toes, from its dungeons of criminality, open corruption, economic indiscipline, poverty, unnecessary borrowing causing national indebtedness etc. Your critics would invent all sorts of back biting, but the masses know that you are the answer. NANA, CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR VICTORY, BONNE COURAGE!!!

Anyan Baah (NPP Deputy Communications Director)
