I am a master student at a university in Germany and got married to a German lady and affected my status so I had to go to Berlin for a new Ghana Pasport. In fact what I observed was not only pitiful but a disgrace to our nation Ghana. A fat woman working there was banging doors and pouring insults and shouts at us! When I complained, a lady worker there told me: ' I want them to do things my way but they would do it their way '.
In fact I remember this statement very well. On many occations I saw some of the people given 'tips' to some of the workers for helping them get what they wanted quickly.The money they charged was also too much compared to the service they rendered and also what is charged at other missions.
I think in order to facilitate 'zero tolerance of corruption', the whole stuff should be replaced in order to redeam Ghana's image at the consulate. While at the embassy, I heard a Ghanain man complaining bitterly that even a Nigerian guy he knew have managed to secure a Ghanaian passport but he had been told to produce so many documents which were irrelivant.
To end, I would urge the Ghana government to investigate are that Mr.Rau had said and take appropriate action, for me, I have had my own experience which is damaging to the nation's reputation.
