The saga of high profile politicians committing grievous traffic offences and absconding or attempting to show baser citizens 'where power lies' do not seem to be going away.

Only days ago, Minister for Health, Dr. Kwaku Agyeman Mensah, was caught on camera for such an offence – this time hit and run, in spite of a trick he played on the public to dodge justice and the law.

The Minister, who was a few days ago driving vehicle number GV 520 14 along the Christ the King lane into the main road leading to the Police Headquarters, in overtaking a taxi, ran into a vehicle entering the World Food Programme lane ostensibly into a bungalow.

The car was badly mangled on its side, smashing the windscreens and running into a drain.

Instead of showing concern, the errant Minister sat stiff in his car with the police bodyguard, whilst good Samaritans from a nearby office, including policemen, moved out to assist the victim.

Even after the lady had been rushed to hospital, there were no indications that the Minister was following up to see the victim receive treatment.

Later, a vehicle appeared on the scene from the Police Headquarters to pick the Honourable Minister, leaving the poor lady to her fate.

What DAYBREAK learnt is that the Minister is rather using errand boys to fight the fire he has ignited. He is even using top military officers to douse the flame, when he should be facing the law courts for almost killing a Ghanaian.

The Cantonment Police, visible on the scene has allowed the Minister's vehicle to be towed away for repairs to be paid from tax payers' money, whilst the poor lady's car was left at the Cantonment Police Station at the mercy of the weather and to be investigated when she left hospital.
