President Kufuor mourns Chief of Staff

Jamasi (Ash), June 17, GNA- President John Agyekum Kufuor was among mourners at the burial service of Opanin Samuel Okyere Akosah, father of Mr Kwadwo Okyere Mpiani, Chief of Staff at Jamasi-Ashanti on Thursday.

He was accompanied by Mr Yaw Osafo-Maafo, Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Richard Winfred Anane, Minister of Roads and Transport, Professor Christopher Ameyaw-Akumfi, Minister of Ports, Harbours and Railways and Mr Sampson Kwaku Boafo, Ashanti Regional Minister. They filed past the casket at the Prince of Peace Presbyterian Church at Jamasi-Ashanti.

Other mourners who paid their last respect to the deceased were the clergy, family members and other sympathisers. The Reverend John Frempong, District Minister in-charge of the Church in a brief sermon, said, "indeed the labourers task has come to an end".

Opanin Akosah, 95, died at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi on February 23, this year and left behind a widow, Mrs Anna Okyere Akosah.
