Education Director worried about death of teachers

GNA

Nkoranza (B/A), June 16, GNA- Mr. Kwabena Agyeman-Badu, Nkoranza District Director of Education, has expressed concern about death of teachers in the district this year.

He said since the beginning of this year, 10 teachers - six males and four females - have died in the district.

Mr. Agyeman-Badu told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the situation was "very unfortunate and disturbing" as it had created vacancies in some schools, which were already understaffed.

The District Director appealed to teachers in the area to be very careful about their lifestyles and be mindful of their health. Mr. Agyeman-Badu recalled the death in a lorry accident on the Techiman-Nkoranza road recently of one of the teachers when he was returning to his station after visiting his hometown.

He advised teachers serving in the district to do away with lifestyles that would affect their health.
