Rainstorm hits Osino Islamic Community

Akim Osino(E/R), June 13, GNA - Within a fortnight, two severe rainstorms had hit Akim Osino township, seriously causing damage to public and private property.

Briefing the GNA at Osino on Thursday, the Project Officer of the Zongo Community, Mallam Awudu Chamba, said the disasters had ripped off the roofs of houses and occupants were putting up with friends and relatives.

He led newsmen to inspect the extent of damage caused to property including a collapsed Islamic school building.

Mallam Chamba said pupils of the school were at the moment attending classes at the Osino Catholic Primary, compelling the school to run shift.

The head of the Zongo community, Chief Mallam Moro, appealed to the Fanteakwa District Assembly to come to the aid of affected people and institutions. June 13, 04
