Accra, June 9, GNA - The National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Wednesday asked its members and supporters to patronise the Voters' Photo-Taking exercise while a team it had put together tried to resolve perceived anomalies with Electoral Commission (EC).

Mr Bede Ziedeng, the Party's Deputy General Secretary In-Charge of Operations, in a signed statement said; "the Party has put together a team, which is studying in detail the Electoral Commission's registration figures and the analysis made by the media, with a view to ensuring the integrity of the electoral process".

The statement said: "The NDC has indicated to the Electoral Commission its intention of formally raising the issue with it and will pursue the matter to its logical conclusion."

It said: "It has come to the attention of the National Secretariat of the NDC that Members and Supporters of the Party have become agitated over developments in the electoral process following recent media publications on inconstancies in the registration figures provided by the Electoral Commission."

The Party said according to facts available to it and analysis it had carried out more than 200,000 registration forms might not have been accounted for.

"It is, therefore, feared that the Voter's register could again be bloated, and if this happens, then it will certainly facilitate rigging of the elections", the statement said. 09 June 04
