Student pastor charged with stealing

GNA

Tema, June 8, GNA- A 30-year-old student pastor has pleaded guilty to stealing 600,000 cedis and has been granted 50 million cedis bail by the Tema circuit court "B".

Seth Ofori however, pleaded not guilty to stealing a ram valued at 1.2 million cedis belonging to the same complainant. The court therefore reserved sentence in the first charge until the second one was disposed of.

Chief Inspector Ben Agbedanu, told the court that on December 12, 2003, at about 0730 hours, the complainant engaged the services of the accused to do some repair work on a pen in house and left the accused with his secretary, and left for work in Accra.

The following day, the secretary told the complainant that the accused entered a room and stole a box containing 600,000 cedis and a ram valued at 1.2 million cedis and bolted at the time that the secretary had gone to another room, the prosecution said.

Chief Inspector Agbedanu said a next-door neighbour who saw the accused with the box, told the complainant who also reported the matter to the police.
