GNA

Accra, June 7, GNA - The National Women's soccer team, the Black Queens will engage the Greater Accra Regional female soccer team in a friendly game at the Legon Ajax Park on Thursday, June 10.

The match is to serve as a preparatory game for the Queens who are currently in camp at the Winneba Sports Complex preparing for a qualifier to the females' version of the Africa Nation's Cup Championship slated for South Africa later in the year.

The Queens will begin their campaign against their Guinean counterparts on Sunday July 11.

The Greater Accra team is however, expected to use the game as a dress rehearsal for their participation in the up coming National Sports festival to be staged in Kumasi, the Garden City at the following weekend.

The Queens technical direction, which has undergone transformation is likely to see coach John Eshun parading his full set for the day. His option in goalkeeper Memunatu Sulemana will not be in doubt whilst the likes of Mavis Danso, Lydia Ankrah, Adjoa Bayor and Gloria Oforiwaa among others are possible candidates.

Joseph Ayitey, an official of the Greater Accra team is however confident that the Queens will meet their match in his team.
