Voice of Ghana Radio Starts Test Transmission
Voice of Ghana Radio, a community broadcast radio programme targetted at the Ghanaian community in the Washington Metropolitan area will start test transmission today from 4-7pm.
Intended to re-broadcast news from some radio stations in Ghana as well as provide music and entertainment, it will run daily on 88.5 from 4-7pm Monday to Friday.
A collaboration between the Embassy of Ghana in Washington,DC and Direct Community Broadcasting for Multicultural Radio which is based in Washington,DC, Mr. Ivor Agyeman-Duah, Minister Counselor of Public Affairs at the Embassy says, the programmes will however be available to subscribers on community broadcaster radio receivers for members who can register on www.dcbroadcast.com/radio/ for free radio receivers.
Apart from re-broadcasting political, social and economic programmes as well as promoting the work of musicians and churches from Ghana and in the United States, Mr. Agyeman-Duah said it will also serve as a medium for Ghanaian businesses to advertise.
