Offinso (Ash), May 30, GNA - Mr Kings Adu-Boahen, Offinso South Constituency Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has observed that it is only the NDC that has the vision and the capability to give hope to disillusioned Ghanaians.

He said the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has not lived up to the desired expectation, therefore, the suffering people especially the ordinary Ghanaian and the large number of unemployed youth look to the NDC for their salvation from hardships and deprivation. Mr Adu-Boahen was addressing a mini-rally at Abofour in the Offinso district on Thursday as part of the party's re-organisation and campaign programme.

The NDC government, he said, has been judged and vindicated by Ghanaians on its positive and meaningful contribution to the socio-economic transformation of the country.

He said after more than three years in office, the NPP government has not been able to make any serious and meaningful impact on the many promises made to Ghanaians during the 2000 electioneering campaign and has lost its political appeal in the face of the ostentatious and offensive lifestyles of its members.

Mr Adu-Boahen said Ghanaians have now realised that all the initial NPP propaganda was simply a cover to hide the government's incompetence and unprecedented corruption in the country's history.

"It is unfortunate that Ghana must suffer the poverty and humiliation we are witnessing under the NPP administration who are bent on causing harm to this country with their negative policies", he noted. Alhaji Baba Maikunta, an elder of the party, advised the members and supporters to place the interest of the party above their personal ambitions to ensure massive victory in the December general elections.
