JUL 29, 2014 LISTEN

Albert Einstein said that 'Any fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent. It takes a touch of genius - and a lot of courage - to move in the opposite direction.' We of the 'Alan4President 2016' (UK/IRELAND) branch wish to inform the public of the true picture, and not follow Mr. Boakye Agyarko's (NPP Campaign Manager for election 2012) lies, distortions and dishonesty.

It is now established by Mr Agyarko that Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen wanted to be part of the campaign team for election 2012 as he did in 2008. Mr. Agyarko has made it emphatically clear that Alan Cash was never given any role to play election 2012. In 1998, when John A. Kufuor was elected as our (NPP) flag-bearer, he made all the losing contestants play an integral part of his campaign team. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo (the first runner up of NPP delegate's congress in 1998) left the shores of Ghana to his base in London - UK.

The chairman then Mr. Samuel Odoi Sykes had to travel to London to plead with Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to join campaign team for election 2000. On his return, candidate John A. Kufuor called on Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to join the team. He was seen everywhere in the campaign trail with J.A. Kufuor and in most instances he introduced J. A. Kufuor or would speak before our presidential candidate spoke. We want to ask whether this was the case in 2012 election? Definitely NOT!! This is the difference between a winning and a losing team.

Lies must not be allowed to see the light of day. Mr. Boakye Agyrako has stated again that there was a well-coordinated and planned agenda by him and Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo not to allow Alan Cash to speak on any campaign platform during the 2012 elections, yet with all these machinations Alan Cash never relented in his effort to be part of the team. During the campaign launch at the international conference centre - Accra, Alan Cash was not given a seat neither was he introduced and Ghanaians can attest to this, as it was live on TV.

Secondly, at the Mantse Agbonaa mammoth rally, Alan Cash was also not introduced or even given the space to have a word with the teaming crowd. As Mr. Boakye Agyarko has acknowledged that NPP is blessed with party stalwarts whom our supporters cherish and at rallies many of these stalwarts are called to speak - Alan Cash is one of these stalwarts. Abu Jinapor, Anthony Abarifa Karbo and co were allowed to speak on such platforms but Alan Cash was not. Are these people having more weight than Alan Cash?

Mr. Boakye Agyarko has exposed his boss (Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo) for not having any cogent plan for election 2012. We can see his boss did not learn from 2008 mistakes but was only interested in leading NPP. Mr. Boakye Agyarko's statement that if 'in the mind of Alan Cash, following Nana Addo around the country and speaking just before him was his idea of participation in the campaign.' indicates how Mr. Boakye Agyarko and his team worked to sideline Alan. Did Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo-Addo not play a strong role in John A. Kufuor's campaign when he followed JAK around the country speaking before he did?

With all these machinations against Him, Alan Cash has kept faith with the party and has made several donations to many constituencies, for example Manhyia North in the Ashanti Region and also mobilized business men to donate to the 2012 campaign. The delegates have listened to him and accepted to vote for CHANGE. Since 1992 a change in flag-bearer has resulted increase in votes, Prof. Adu-Boahen 1992 had 32%, J. A. Kufuor 1996 36%, J. A. Kufuor 2000 first round 48.40%, second round 57.40% and 2004 52.45%. Mr. Boakye Agyarko and his boss could not maintain the status quo and also failed us twice.

This should not come to us as too much of a surprise as history shows that they have failed to have a coordinated functioning game plan, and rub the campaign without giving people specific roles to play. They left anybody to help as they pleased and the result was ''basaa''. His focus should be on explaining to NPP delegates why they created such failures, and not to distort facts and tell lies about Alan Cash. All the aspirants are on the field explaining their policies and programmes for the party/Ghana to delegates and if Mr. Boakye Agyarko has any advice he should tell his boss to come out to campaign or visit delegates in their homes.

Our candidate (Alan Cash) is not perturbed by the machination against his personality and message because as a trade expert, economist, lawyer and diplomat he is willing to bring back NPP into power come 2016 and also willing to fix the broken economy. Our party cannot afford to be run in the Boakye Agyarko way any longer as it has cost us too much. We need a team with good organisation as its core belief, well coordinated and executed, for victory in 2016.

Our time has come, so let us not squander it.

Signed
