His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II , the Asantehene, has stated that he is not a politician as the impression has been wrongly created and as his position as the Asantehene demands, he is not involved in partisan politics in the nation.

" I am King to all and sundry, the King all of those who come and seek my counsel", he explained.

" Yes, I'm the occupant of the Golden Stool, the symbol of the Asante Kingdom, but my doors are always opened to all people. I am there to make sure that, my subjects are at peace, educational opportunities are available to all, are healthy and are out of poverty", Otumfuo Osei Tutu II noted.

The Asantehene stated his position while addressing a cross section of Ghanaians at a colorful ceremony held in his honor to welcome him to the USA, last weekend at the auditorium of Ghana Embassy in the Washington DC.

The Asantehene advised all to respect and abide the laws and regulations of their host nation and do away with any attitude that will tarnish the good name of Ghana.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II urged them to support each other by showing unflinching love and care when the need arises and also remember that, Ghana is their motherland due to that, they must come home to invest.

He stated that the land disputes in the Asante Kingdom have been reduced drastically ever since he issue a strong warning to all the chiefs to put a stop to the selling a piece of land to multiple buyers.

"After my investigation and I found out the truth , I do not hesitate to destool the culprit "

Touching on education, he stated, " When I mounted the Golden Stool , I made education , the welfare of my people as my priority, hence I instituted the Otumfuo Educational Fund to help the brilliant but the needy students to climb the higher ladder of education", His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II noted.

Nana Kofi Boateng the Chief of the Asanteman Association in the Washington Metro Area on behalf Association gave the welcome address by expressing their gratitude to the Asantehene by showing love and respect to his subjects, for taking time off from his very busy schedule to meet with them.
" His Majesty your subjects thank you for the advise given to us. We are going to make sure that, all the important points will be taken care of by supporting one another and becoming law abiding citizens", Nana Kofi Boateng noted.

Nana Okokyeredom Tieku Acheamong, the Chief of the Asanteman Association of New York, who is also the President of Asanteman Council of North America (ACONA) humbly appealed to the Asantehene Otumfou Osei Tutu II to allocate a piece of land to the diaspora to invest in the Asante Kingdom.

The entourage that accompanied the Asantehene included the Atipimhene, Oheneba Agyeman Badu, and the Akomfrehene, Oheneba Akwasi Abayie.

Mr. Akwasi Owusu, a member of Council of Elders of the Asanteman Association of Washington, DC; Nana Ama Achiaa, the Asantefuohemaa of Washington DC; Nana Akua Kwah Kobi, the Asantefuoemaa of New York; Nana Adu Opoku, the Asantefuohene of Cincinnati, Ohio; and Nana Bi Yaa, the Asantefuohemaa of Cincinnati, Ohio were there to grace the occasion.
