Driver granted bail for knocking a pedestrian

Tema, May 22, GNA- A 28-year-old driver who knocked down a pedestrian on the Spintex road has been granted 10 million cedis bail by the Tema circuit court "B".

Joseph Dagbatse pleaded not guilty to negligently causing harm and careless driving and will reappear on June 10. Chief Inspector Edith Nutakor told the court that on April 4, this year, at midnight, the accused was driving a Mitsubishi car from Accra to Nungua on the Spintex road. She said on reaching a spot, the accused, who was following another vehicle swerved and knocked down the victim who was walking along the street.

The victim was rushed to the Tema Hospital for treatment, the prosecution said.
