Subin MP assist three institutions in constituency

Kumasi, May 12, GNA- Mr S.K. Boafo, Ashanti Regional Minister and Member of Parliament (MP) for Subin, has presented financial packages and construction materials totalling 36 million cedis from his share of the common fund to three institutions in the constituency.

The institutions are the T.I. Ahmadiyya Secondary School (AMASS), Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) and the Fourth Battalion of Infantry (4BN).

AMASS had 10 packets of roofing sheets valued at 16 million cedis for the re-roofing of their classroom block and a computer block, which had the roofs blown off by a rainstorm last two months.

Ten million cedis cheque was issued for payment into the endowment fund of the KATH while three army officers of the 4BN who had their houses gutted down by fire last April also received a cheque for 10 million cedis.

The army officers also received 15 million cedis cash donated to them by the Minister of Defence, Dr Kwame Addo Kufuor through the Regional Minister.

Making the presentation at separate functions in Kumasi on Tuesday, Mr Boafo disclosed that a greater proportion of his share of the MPs common fund had been injected into supporting development of education and improvement of health in his constituency.

Mr Boafo stated that there were plans for extension of support under his common fund to Kumasi Anglican Secondary School (KASS) and the Armed Forces Secondary/Technical School at the 4BN.

Mr Yusif Kwabena Agyare, Headmaster of AMASS, commended Mr Boafo for his concern and appealed to him to use his good offices to impress upon the government to assist them with a school bus.

Dr Anthony Nsiah-Asare, Chief Executive of KATH and Major Kofi Arthur, acting Second In-Command of the 4BN, thanked Mr Boafo for the assistance.
