Work starts World Bank funded Domakwai water project

Domakwai (Ash), May 28, GNA - Mr Kwaku Afrifa Yamoah Ponko, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ejisu-Juaben, has performed a ceremony to mark the start of construction works on a World Bank funded water project at Domakwai, a predominantly farming community, in the municipality.

         
The GH¢67,000.00 mechanized borehole is expected to be ready within four months and comes along with the provision of washrooms.

         
The project, on completion, would effectively end decades of struggle for potable water supply by the people and tremendously improve environmental sanitation in the area.

        
The support package is under the Bank's Urban Development Grant Facility to the assembly.

        
Mr Yamoah Ponko appealed to the people to take responsibility for the development of their community and that they needed to rekindle their self-help spirit.

        
he Queen of Domakwai, Nana Ama Dankwah, hailed the project as a welcomed relief and gave the assurance that the community would assist the contractors to ensure work was  completed on schedule.
