Donkro-Nkwanta (B/A) April 27, GNA- Mr. Kwame Ampofo-Twumasi, Nkoranza District Chief Executive, has advised Akpeteshie Cooperative Distillers and Retailers Union of Donkro-Nkwanta to establish oil palm plantations in order to obtain their raw materials at all times. Addressing the annual general meeting of Donkro-Nkwanta Society of the Union at the weekend, he said such plantations would receive financial support under the President's Special Initiative (PSI) project.

He asked the members to continue to cooperate and share useful ideas to promote their activities for an improvement in their living standards.

Mr. Ampofo-Twumasi cautioned the youth against alcoholism and abuse of drug, which could disturb the peace in the communities and advised the people to avoid violence during the electioneering campaigns and the December elections.

Mr. Paul Yaw Tuah, District Union Secretary advised members to desist from smuggling the produce to other places as the practice retarded the progress of the Union.

He appealed to chiefs and elders of Donkro-Nkwanta to allocate farmlands to the Union for the cultivation of oil palm trees to enhance the development of the area.

The district secretary urged the Union's revenue collectors to generate more funds to promote its activities. In a welcoming address, Mr. Yaw Fei, society chairman, announced that members of the Society had started work on the construction of a guesthouse to generate revenue.

He commended members for their efforts towards the project and urged them to ensure its completion.
