Accra, April 21, GNA - The Ghana Women Soccer League Clubs Association (GHAWSOLCA) has congratulated Dr Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe for his election as the new Chairman of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

In statement signed by Mr Philip de Graft Johnson, Vice Chairman of the Executive Council of the Association, it said that his heroic ascension to the thrown is a great achievement that could not have come at a better time than this.

The statement added that the entire soccer fraternity and owners of women clubs needs a man like him because they are in no doubt that the countless problems facing women club owners would receive his maximum attention.

It stated that " We have no doubt that the copious problems affecting the development of the game due to countless factors, including parochial interest, insensitivity to the plight of women handlers, de-motivation and negligence of responsibility among others would receive your maximum attention."

It also called on the new chairman to take an urgent look at a proposal made by the association to the GFA earlier this year for the establishment a seven member Board for a National Women League. The proposal sought to evoke the amendment and implementation of article 43 (14a) of the GFA regulations calling for the establishment of the seven-member Board.

The statement said the proposal was submitted to the GFA for onward transmission to the Congress but it was surprisingly not made known at the just ended Congress of the GFA.

The association expressed its readiness to have dialogue with the new Chairman in order to tackle any problems to ensure the smooth take off of the women's league through out the country.
