Ntribuoho (Ash), April 20, GNA -Mr Samuel Kwasi Otchere, Civic Education Officer of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) in the Kwabre district, has called on supporters of various political parties in the country to consider their opponents as partners in development and not as enemies.

He said all political parties have a common objective of winning power to lead the people to achieve their hopes and aspirations, pointing out that difference lay only in their approach towards achieving these objectives.

Speaking at an educational forum organised by the Kwabre office of the NCCE on the 1992 constitution and political development at Ntribuoho on Tuesday, Mr Otchere stressed that there was no need for people to insult or fight their political opponents in the name of political divide.

He advised the people to avail themselves of the manifestoes of various political parties and study them to enable them to elect the right people with good policies and programmes.

Mr James Nyamaa-Addo, Fields Assistant of the NCCE, asked the people to form civic clubs to know more about how the country is being governed as well as know other rights and responsibilities as citizens. Mr Sampson Adu-Poku, assembly member for Ntribuoho electoral area, stressed the need for people to be law-abiding to ensure peace and tranquillity in their communities.

He urged them not to hesitate to report people they suspect to be criminals to the police for their arrest. 20 April 04
