The two mysterious cobras that the three Nigerians namely Abubakar Mohammed, Rashid Mohammed and Abdul Karim used in committing robbery in the Tema municipality would be arraigned before the Tema community tribunal.
Sources closed to the Tema community one police have confirmed that the three robbers together with the two cobras if found guilty would be made to face the jail terms. While the three robbers would be imprisoned, the dreadful cobras would be restricted to the Accra zoo.
It would be recalled that the Free Press carried a story on April 7, 2004 with the headline 'Tema Robbers Adopt New Style', where two dreadful cobras were used in robbing unsuspecting citizens in the municipality. A visit to the Tema community one police station last week revealed that the cobras were being fed with meat and water in order to keep them alive. According to the police, the leader of the gang, Abubakar Mohammed gave directives on how to prevent the cobras from dying. According to the development, two or more gangs approach a mobile phone shop with an old phone. One of the gangs then picks up a phone being displayed on the shelve and then pass it on to the other colleague with the pretext of examining it. They then bolt away with the new phone leaving the old phone on the shelves.
