Accra, April 15, GNA- An Accra Circuit Court on Thursday remanded into prison custody a 22-year old hairdresser who stabbed a 27-year- old trader twice in the ribs during a fight.

Grace Quaicoo, pleaded guilty to causing harm and the court, chaired by Mr S.G. Okraku remanded her for sentencing on April 21. The case of Prosecuting Inspector Joseph Hemeng was that the Complainant, Elizabeth Akpelitey and Grace were friends staying at Pig Farm, a suburb in Accra.

Prosecution said due to some misunderstanding, the two are not on talking terms.

On March 30, this year, at about 1600 hours, Elizabeth visited her sister's house where Grace was also staying. During her conversation, she asked her sister to advise Grace to desist from gossiping about her. During her conversation, Grace arrived and immediately she saw Elizabeth, she left the scene. Elizabeth then went to Grace's house and confronted her about her behaviour but she ignored her. Elizabeth then left to her house.

Grace went to Elizabeth's house, attacked, and stabbed her twice in the rib. A witness in the case rushed to the scene and rescued Elizabeth who was bleeding excessively.

Prosecution said the matter was reported to the police and they were both issued with medical forms. Elizabeth who was admitted at the 37 Military Hospital, underwent a surgery.

On April 8, this year she was discharged at the hospital.
