Rainstorm destroys school property


Akim-Swedru (E/R), April 14, GNA- A severe rainstorm hit Akim Swedru on Tuesday and ripped off the roofs of the Akim Swedru Methodist JSS and other public and private buildings. Most of the test books of the school were soaked, while a number of workshop tools were damaged.

The Headmistress of the school, Ms Victoria Dame, who conducted Newsmen round to inspect the damage, estimated at 20 million cedis. She appealed to the contractor who was awarded the contract to rehabilitate the school to commence work as soon as possible to avert further disaster to the school.

Meanwhile, the Circuit Supervisor, Mr Alfred Eyan had also visited the school to inspect the damage.
