Catholic Bishops Conference of Anglophone West Africa to take place in Ho

Ho, April 11, GNA - The Catholic Bishops Conference of Anglophone West Africa would take place in Ho in August, this year, the Right Reverend Francis A. Lodonu, Bishop of Ho Diocese of the Catholic Church announced on Saturday.

He appealed to the traditional authorities in the area to assist the Catholic Secretariat to ensure a success of the land-mark event. Bishop Lodonu who announcement these at the maiden Ho Asogli Youth Congress in Ho on Saturday asked the youth to accord the chieftaincy institution the respect and dignity it deserved to enable it foster unity and promote development.

He appealed to Togbe Afede XIV, Agbogbomefia of Ho Asogli State, to to unite all chiefs and people of the region to fill the traditional leadership vacuum in there.

Bishop Lodonu also appealed to chiefs to create land banks which he said could attract investors who could create employment for the people, particularly the youth.

Togbe Afede XIV, pledged his unflinching support for Catholic Secretariat in organising the Conference.

He urged the people to assist traditional authorities to achieve their aspirations.

Togbe Adzie Lakle Howusu XII, Awafiaga of Ho Asogli State, called on the people to unite towards the development of the area.
