Tapa-Amanya, April 11, GNA - Contract on the Kpando-Worawora-Asukwakwa road, currently under construction is to be updated and extended to Dambai. Mr Kwasi Owusu-Yeboa, Volta Regional Minister announced this at Tapa-Amanya in the Jasikan District of the Volta Region on Saturday when he was commissioning a 345-million community water system.

He said the construction of the highway through to Kete-Krachi and another one from Jasikan through Brewaniese and Nkwanta to Kpassa would facilitate economic activity between the northern and southern parts of the region and the country if completed.

Mr Owusu-Yeboa said government was committed to sending development to every part of the country but that would require the cooperation of the chiefs in ensuring that peace prevailed in their areas.

Mr Owusu-Yeboa advised parents to invest in the education of their children since that would be the best legacy they could bequeath to their children. The Minister inspected work on a 450-million cedi six-unit classroom block with stores, a library, staff common and lavatory for the community, which is among 48 other HIPC funded projects in the education sector in the region.
