The porcupine Warriors, Kumasi Asante Kotoko are poised for serious action in their crucial CAF Champions League duel against Asec Mimosa of Abidjan on Sunday.

In a telephone chat with Kofi Asare Brako of PEACE FM from Abidjan, he told SPACE FM that the players are highly motivated to deliver the goods as a result the huge support the boys are receiving from Ghanaians resident in Abidjan. “Determination is clearly written on the faces of the players” Abatey reported.

The first to show the way is Ghana's Ambassador to Ivory Coast, Professor Boafo. He has accommodated the players at the premises of the Mission. This has given the players huge sense of security as a result of perceived fragile security situation in the country.

The players in a solemn pledge to Professor Boafo promised to lift high the flag of Ghana. “The battle is not a battle for Kotoko but for mother Ghana”, Godfred Yeboah said.

The Ghanaian community in Abidjan made a presentation of assorted items worth CFA 130, 000 to the team yesterday. The items included soft drinks, mineral water, toiletries, soap, milk etc.

The technical team is leaving no stone unturned in their quest to snatch victory from the host. Having acknowledged the physique and endurance of their opponents, the head coach of Kotoko, Hans Kodrich is expected to strengthen his midfield

The Ivorian club boasting of youthful players with average age of twenty years eight months has hit a devastating form. No wonder they have not lost a single match in the Ivorian league and are currently topping the pack with 19 points and 21 goals.

This notwithstanding, the Oseikrom lads are least perturbed and are determined to go for the kill on Sunday. The match would start at 1500 hours the local time (4.00pm in Ghana)
