MAR 12, 2014 LISTEN

Ghanaians and other residents in Southern Ontario Province of Canada, who suffered a lot through devastating snow storms late last year and early this year lived the day of March 11, 2014 with much of smiles on their faces.

This was because the day was one of the warmest days so far recorded in the year 2014 with seven[7C] in Greater Toronto Area[GTA] says Environment Canada.

However the smiles were short lived as the night approached and the sun set for the moon to take over leaving the residents with the weather alert of possible snow storm hitting the area from the night of March 11 through to the evening of March 12, meaning getting colder and putting on more jackets to get warm.

Seven day weather forecast last week gave a warning of possible snow storm hitting Toronto in the OntarioProvince and other areas such as Cornwall and Niagara area on America Canada border.

On March 11, 2014, that was yesterday, less than 24 hours for the snow storm to hit the area, weather alert was issued by Environment Canada as it also issued a number of watches and warnings through the electronic and print media to keep residents informed and prepare for the expected storm.

According to Environment Canada, Toronto could see up to 15 centimeters of snow and blowing snow on March 12, whiles some other areas could see up to 25 centimeters which could make vehicular movement almost impossible.

The weather department said, an area of low pressure from Kansas in America, will track South of the Lowest Great Lakes on Wednesday and it is expected to bring between 5-15 centimeters of snow.

Winds are expected to gust from 40 to 60 km/h that will make it difficult for driving into Wednesday evening because of blowing snow.

So far, no state of emergency has been declared therefore workers have to report at work in the morning and go about their normal duties.
