Cry The Beloved Country Ghana

Cry The Beloved Country Ghana
06.03.2014 LISTEN

As the first sub-Saharan African nation to attain independence, it is sad to realize that the black man, after all is not capable of managing his own affairs. I know for a fact that the BIG SIX including Dr. Kwame Nkrumah and Dr. Joseph Boakye Danquah would be turning in their graves. Ghana is 57 years old but our democratic credentials is questionable. On the economic front, Ghana could be likened to a 57 year old man with cancer who is bed-ridden, waiting for the final hour. Corruption is now the order of the day, poverty has now become the acronym for President John “Promise” Mahama. Under his leadership, there is no inspiration and corruption has become institutionalized. Ghana is now far worse than hope and hope is totally lost.

The theme for this year´s independence celebration is “Building a Better and Prosperous Ghana through Patriotism and National Unity.” Isn't that ironic? The question I ask is “how can Ghana be a better and prosperous nation when the country is deeply rooted in corruption and economic mismanagement?” A country that produces oil, most times experience fuel shortages. A country that is blessed with so many natural resources cannot feed her people, let alone provide infrastructure and social intervention schemes to alleviate the plight of the suffering masses. Can't they learn from the NPP?

In short, the Ndc government led by President John “Kofi Dubai” Mahama is incompetent, corrupt, fake, insensitive, and a “tweaaaaa” apology of governance and leadership which is rightly described as an “Akomfem” republic.

Ghanaians must not forgive the government for its dirty deals in GYEEDA, SUBAH, ISOFOTON, WOYOME etc. We must not forgive them for the rising prices of utilities and the cost of living. How can the price of fuel be increased every two weeks?

Serious challenges facing the Mahama administration is the issue of mismanagement of the national economy. Lack of clear cut direction of the economy, and indecisiveness in trimming the fiscal deficit which has plunged the economy in serious troubles with the Cedi facing one of its worse depreciation since 1965.Many Ghanaians are finding it hard to make ends meet and their living conditions is deteriorating on daily basis. Since Ghana´s independence, the NDC has ruled Ghana for over 25years but they have nothing to show for their continued stay in governance.

The real issue on the ground is that the government cannot help the ordinary Ghanaian and is out of touch with the reality on the ground, except for propaganda. At 57years, the people of Ghana must cry because this is not what the founding fathers of our great nation envisioned when they tirelessly fought for our independence. All what I will say in the end is “CRY THE BELOVED COUNTRY”.

LONG LIVE GHANA!
