Dormaa-Ahenkro (B/A), April 4, GNA - A total of 83,645 people registered in the Dormaa district during the voter registration exercise recently conducted by the Electoral Commission (EC). Out of the number, 58,981 people registered the Dormaa West constituency while 24,664 others registered in the Dormaa East constituency, according to a final report signed by the District Electoral Officer, Mr Anthony Kwame Nyame at Dormaa-Ahenkro.
The report said 98 people were challenged, mostly on citizenship. They included 85 people from Kofi Badukrom, a border town in the Dormaa West constituency. It said the female voter population constituted 52.3 percent as compared to the male voter population of 47.7 percent.
The adult voter population of 22 years and above constituted 77 percent while those between 18-22 years constituted 23 percent.
