Accra, March 30, GNA - Mr Hackman Owusu-Agyeman, Minister of the Interior has given assurance to Ghanaian troops on peacekeeping duties that arrangements had been made for them to register and vote in the Election 2004. Details of the arrangements were not made public when Mr Owusu-Agyeman addressed a durbar of GHANBATT 59 in Lebanon.

A statement issued in Accra on Tuesday and signed by Mrs Adiza Ofori-Adu Public Relations Officer of the Ministry, said Mr Owusu-Agyeman led Ghana's delegation to the UN Peace Medal Award Ceremony for the officers, men and women of the mission held in Tibnin, South Lebanon. It said Mr Owusu-Agyeman briefed the troops on the social and political situation at home and the various initiatives the Government had taken to improve the standard of living of Ghanaians.

The statement said he commended the troops for their professionalism, which was a living testimony of the discipline within the Ghana Armed Forces.
