KATH Doctors‘ on strike

By Dr. med. Edward K. Poku
KATH Doctors on strike
18.02.2014 LISTEN

The organisation Ashanti/Unite, appeal to all peace loving people of Ashanti descent to support the legitimate strike of the KATH Doctors.

We demand that the President of the Republic of Ghana, President John Mahama, who was brought into power through his ethnocentric propaganda through galvanizing the support of his ethnic brethren from the north, to institute within a period of two weeks an immediate commission of inquiry to investigate this horrible incident at the Komfo-Anokye Hospital.

The NDC and Mahama have wilfully encouraged the humiliation, marginalisation and even death of Ashantis in their own Nation, the Ashanti Kingdom.

The NDC created the Nkatha type organisation to intimidate Ashantis with Northeners wielding cutlasses in the Ashanti Capital Kumasi. Rawlings was then the President of Ghana and saw to it that this intimidation of Ashantis was carried on to its successful conclusion.

We say enough is enough. Ashanti is a Nation within the State of Ghana. We welcome “Amanfrafoo” to live with us but not in “Ghettos” they describe as zongos. We expect the Northerners to integrate with the populace in Kumasi.

Wireko Brobbey, that intelligent man remarked that the policies of Mahama are to be likened to that of the Gold Coast.

The NDC and Mahama have wilfully encouraged the humiliation, marginalisation and the death of Ashantis in their own Nation. The NDC created the Nkatha type organisation to intimidate Ashantis with Northerners wielding cutlasses in the Ashanti Capital of Kumasi. We say enough is enough. We are demanding our sovereign right to form our government and to choose our leaders in our own Nation. We reject the upcoming review of the 1992 constitution and demand constitutional reform through referendum. We demand devolution.

Failure to heed to our plea will result in Scotland-Style referendum of the people of Ashanti and instead of demanding a devolution we shall seek for a federal constitution and nothing else.

The molestation, threats, marginalisation and deprivation of essential medicines justify our sovereign right to seek for a local government in our Region.

If the government of Ghana does not responsibly act and behaves in a foolish manner the sovereign will of our people will prevail. The Northerners should be advised either to integrate or to leave Ashanti Region and go home to the north, where they come from.

We demand our freedom, we want devolution now. We are for peace, but when we speak they are for war.
