Armed robbers attacked filling station at Agona Swedru

Agona Swedru, March 26, GNA - Two Armed robbers on Monday raided the Fraga petrol filling station at Agona Swedru and made away 4.5 million cedis.

Another gang of four armed robbers invaded the house of Mr Cab Addae, a legal practitioner and took away personal effects estimated to cost millions of cedis on Tuesday.

Mr Alex Addae, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DPS) in charge of Agona Swedru District, who made these known at a meeting of heads of department at Agona Swedru on Tuesday advised owners of filling stations to beef up security at their facilities.

DSP Addae said no arrest has been made but investigations were being conducted into the two incidents.

He appealed to the public to provide the police with information that could lead to the arrest of the armed robbers, adding that the informants would be protected.

DSP Addae said the police have intensified efforts to track down on thieves, armed robbers and other criminals.

Mr G.B.L. Siilo, Agona District Co-ordinating Director, said information reaching the assembly indicated that Cocaine, India Hemp and Heroine were being sold in the Agona Swedru.

He therefore, urged the police to arrest the drug dealers and traffickers who use Agona Swedru as transit point.
