Nkawie (Ash), March 25, GNA - Mr Peter Oduro-Otchere, Atwima District Registration Supervisor, on Tuesday said 92,581 voters had so far been registered in the Atwima district.
He said 32,581 voters were registered in the Mponua constituency and 54,000 were registered in the Nwabiagya constituency.
Speaking to the GNA at Nkawie on Wednesday, Mr Oduro-Otchere said 51,000 and 67,000 voters were registered in the Mponua and Nwabiagya constituencies respectively during the previous registration exercise. He said all the 266 registration centres in the district were provided with logistics to ensure the success of the on-going voters registration exercise.
Mr Oduro-Otchere, however, said there had been occasional shortage of registration forms at some few centres.
He said the lack of means of transport was also impeding the effective monitoring of the exercise at some centres, and called for support from the Electoral Commission and the district assembly. Mr Oduro-Otchere commended the chiefs, assembly and unit committee members in the district for supporting the exercise.
