Reverend Samuel Mfum Yeboah, Pastor in-charge of the Resurrection Presbyterian Congregation at New-Dormaa, a suburb of Sunyani, gave the advice at a confirmation service for 18 youth members of the church in Sunyani.

They comprised seven males and 11 females, between the ages of 15 and 25 years, whose confirmation prepared them to join the adults and communicants to participate in the feast of the communion sacrament of the church.

He stressed that the youth could shun social vices through the study of the teachings on the life of Jesus Christ so as to overcome the temptations and other social challenges.

Rev. Yeboah emphasized the need for the congregation to live above reproach, admonishing that they should remain committed to the doctrines of the church, since they were role models in their communities.

He expressed concern about the numerous challenges that faced adolescents and the youth, advising that the only way the Christian youth could overcome those challenges was to be disciplined in their social lives with the study and use of scriptures as their guide.

The Reverend Minister therefore called on the congregation to be wary of false prophets who had been preaching against the teachings of other churches, advising that as Presbyterian, they should maintain their faith.
