Mr. Awasi has made a complaint to the Have Police Station in he Hohoe District on Dr. Donkor's alleged threats. A statement by Mr. Awasi, a copy which was made available to The Daily Dispatch, stated in art, on Sunday, February 29, 2004, Cephas Donkor, NPP aspiring parliamentary candidate in the company of four other supporters, came to my house at Kpando at 7:30am.
They made me to understand that very soon, Cephas Donkor and Esther Ofori, Chief Executive of Trade Fair Centre, will be contesting the NPP primaries in the North Dayi Constituency and that they gathered information from some reliable sources that Esther Ofori's supporters planned to bribe me with ¢2million to make available to them, classified documents on Cephas Donkor's involvement in the NDC affairs to facilitate his total disqualification to contest the pending primaries to allow Esther to go unopposed.
I asked them how possible could that be if I am no longer there as NDC secretary. They said that was the information they had and threatened to attack me spiritually or use any other means available to them if I dare yield to their proposed demands for any form of document on Cephas Donkor.
Mr. Awasi also alleged that around midnight on Tuesday March 9, a staunch NDC activities during he 2000 elections, Christine Adzovie, popularly known as Akpine Bra, in the company of one Emmanuel Korkodi, popularly known as forgive and Forget warned him about releasing any information on Donkor to Esther Ofori's advantage.
