My Master Is Not Lucifer -Victor Smith

By Daily Guide

Mr. Victor Smith, special aide to former President Rawlings has stated that leading members and other executive of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) are totally upset, disturbed and panic-stricken, because of the former president's determination to go all-out to campaign for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), in the fast-approaching general elections.

He noted that with former President Rawlings on the campaign trail of NDC, there is every possibility that the party will see resounding victory. He observed that it is common knowledge and practically visible to Ghanaians that the NDC Administration, under former President Rawlings, was better than the current one under President John Agyekum Kufuor.

Asked why NDC is not making Prof. John Evans Atta Mills more popular since he is currently the presidential candidate for NDC, Victor Smith responded that NPP has no clue as to how NDC is marketing Prof Atta Mills. He emphasized that Prof. Atta Mills is now very much known as a credible presidential candidate, who has the potential of winning the forthcoming elections.

He was, however, quick to add that Rawlings's charisma is a God-given gift and that no matter what would be done, the former president remains a crowd-puller and commands respect and popularity among majority of Ghanaians.

Mr. Kojo Acquah, Western Regional Organiser of NPP, who is among the panelist of the newspaper review team, then quizzed Mr. Smith why NDC lost even when President Rawlings campaigned for NDC in election 2000. Victor Smith responded that Ghanaians wanted a change in order to see what NPP could offer them, and it has demonstrated that it is not up to the task, hence Ghanaians are crying for NDC to return to power, come December 2004.

He related that President Kufuor's Administration has woefully failed Ghanaians, and it would reap its final results in the up-coming elections.
