Barreto Drops Defiant Bortey, Poku From Squad

Ghana coach, Mariano Barreto has left out Bernard Dong Bortey and Kojo Poku from his squad for the Black Meteors' last game against Zambia.

The duo were not named in the 20-man squad released by the coach to begin camping on Monday in preparation for the Olympic Games qualifier against Zambia in Kumasi.

Coach Barreto has declared he has no plans for the two strikers in future assignments; obviously considering the players' decision to leave for trails at German Bundesliga club, HSV Hamburg a few days to Ghana's crucial game against South Africa as a snub.

The players have apologised to the Portuguese coach upon their return from Germany at the beginning of the week Barreto appears set to maintain his stance in a bid to instill discipline amongst his players.
