The leadership of the African Business Forum; Business and Financial Times and Vodafone Ghana have presented the Communiqué issued at the 2013 Vodafone Africa Business Leaders Forum (ABLF) to the Minister of State in-charge of Public-Private Partnership, Rashid Pelpuo.

The three-page document outlined the key challenges facing the development of Ghana and Africa as a continent.

The Director of Vodafone Business Solutions, Lucy Quist, said: “We do not want ABLF to be another talk shop so we put down these action points that we want government to take note and support the private sector. We are hopeful that our beloved continent, Africa would be transformed positively through visionary leadership and we believe that initiatives like the ABLF can help achieve that goal.”

She added that “Vodafone Business Solutions and several other businesses that participated in the 2013 African Business Leaders Forum were contributing their quota towards developing the continent through various home grown solutions that enhance entrepreneurship, agriculture, innovation and economic growth.

Chief Executive Officer of B&FT, Edith Dankwa, was emphatic effective partnerships between the private sector and government could address the myriad of challenges facing Ghana.

The Minister, Rashid Pelpuo, thanked the team for developing the communique, he pledged to share it with the Office of the President and see how best they could implement some of the recommendations.

The 2013 ABLF forum was on the theme 'Setting the Next Agenda for Africa'. It brought together business leaders across the continent in July 2013 to discuss the key challenges facing the region.
