Pastor Busted For Rape
24.10.2013 LISTEN

The founder and leader of Life Chapel International Ministry, Rev. Okai Ababio, has been arrested for allegedly raping and duping a member of the church.

He is accused of attempting to rape a female congregant, who for the sake of public ridicule, decided not to report the matter to the police until the pastor falsely accused her of blackmailing him.

Rev. Okai Ababio, believed to be in his 40s, was placed in custody and booked for attempted rape against Gifty Amoabeng Mensah, a mobile banker at Adansi Asokwa.

DSP Daniel Anane Amoah, Fomena District Police Commander, who confirmed the arrest, told DAILY GUIDE the pastor's initial complaint of blackmailing against the lady turned out to be a trumped up charge to conceal his alleged sexual abuse of the victim.

He added that the Life Chapel International Ministry's founder and leader was being investigated for an attempted rape on the mobile banker.

Rev. Okai Ababio was recently taken to the Fomena District Magistrate Court by another female parishioner of his church over yet another accusation of defrauding her and the mother after promising to marry her.

The latest allegation came to light when the sexually abused victim was summoned before the Odikro of Adansi-Adiemera to answer a charge of blackmailing levelled against her by Okai Ababio over the weekend.

The alleged incident happened a month ago when the victim joined other parishioners for a watch-night prayer session at the farming community.

The Odikro of Adiemera, Nana Oduro Frikyi, who corroborated the story, told DAILY GUIDE pastor Okai Ababio used the word of God as a pretext to lure the young lady whom she tried to rape by tearing into shreds her panties and skirt.

Nana Frikyi said that the pastor indicated he would cleanse the victim of any demonic attack, and asked Gifty to wait for him in front of his room soon after the watch-night service.

He then took the victim to his room where he attempted to rape her, but luckily for the lady, she managed to escape.

After the assault, the pastor cooked up the story of blackmailing against seven members of his church after he allegedly rejected their love proposals.

The chief stated that Rev. Okai reported Gifty to him and his elders to stop her and others from continuing to subject him to public ridicule.

It was the meeting at the palace where it came to light that it was the randy pastor  who rather attempted to rape the young lady of 24 years, promising to employ her in one of his chains of businesses including a microfinance company, Nana Frikyi narrated.

Not long ago, the same pastor had fought with a fetish priest of the Boafo Mosi Shrine at Adansi Anwiam in public over juju fee of GH¢1,050.

The fetish priest descended on the pastor in his church to demand the balance of an agreed fee for the juju he had allegedly given to the man of God to expand his ministry.
