2nd Tier Occupational Pension Scheme Set Up

The Local Government Service Secretariat and the Local Government Workers' Union (LGWU) of the Ghana Trades Union Congress (TUC) have established the 2 nd Tier Occupational Pension Scheme for Employees of the Local Government Service and Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs) in compliance with National Pensions Act , 2008 ( Act 766 ).

 
The LGWU had given the mandate to organize the staff to benefit from the provisions of the 2 nd tier Occupational Pension Scheme for the local government employees.

 
The Union has consequently settled all fees and charges issued by the National Pension Regulatory Authority (NPRA), the General Secretary of the LGWU, Mr. Joe Boahen said.

 
The Leadership of the LGWU therefore called on all the staff of the Local Government Service to ensure that they fill the relevant registration forms to be submitted to the National Pension Regulatory Authority as early as possible.
