Accra, Sept. 11, GNA - Samsung has promised to bring the world of art and technology closer together at the FNB Joburg Art Fair, to be held at Sandton Convention Centre, South Africa, from 27-29 September 2013.

A statement issued by Samsung and copied to the Ghana News Agency on Wednesday said, visitors at the fair would be exposed to superior quality of audio-visual products to be installed by the leading electronics company.

The statement said Samsung would also provide an innovative platform for Mohau Modisakeng, a South African artist, for his work to be displayed on Samsung's innovative Ultra HD 85-inch TV, as part of a multi-media installation at the upcoming Fair.

'Samsung is all about creating amazing experiences and we have always been supportive of the arts and there is no doubt that we have a strong cultural industry with an influx of innovation at its core,' it said.

The statement said Samsung was proud to be part of the Fair by not only exposing visitors to the superior quality of audio-visual products in a new way but more so, by developing and fostering Africa's talent and cultural landscape.

Ross Douglas, Head of Artlogic, the organisers of the Art Fair, commended Samsung for the partnership and the special video art project to be displayed at the Fair.

'Video artists in Africa have always been limited by the available technology and have longed to have the production value that could only traditionally be achieved with 35mm film.

'Thanks to products such as the Samsung Ultra HD monitor, a South African artist will now be working with feature-film equipment, including a 4K camera, to produce video art to be specifically seen at the FNB Joburg Art Fair', he said.
