Jerusalem Pilgrims Association of Ghana inaugurated

The Jerusalem pilgrims in Ghana have inaugurated the Jerusalem Pilgrims Association of Ghana (JePAG) to champion the Christian faith and support Christians as they partake in their spiritual activities in Accra.

The Association is an independent and non-political social organisation of Christians who have embarked on pilgrimage to the Holy Land (Israel).

Dr Emmanuel James Owusu-Bonsu, President of JePAG, said the pilgrims undertook a lot of spiritual exercise and said prayers when on the pilgrimage.

He said the Association came about as a result of his lifetime experience in the Holy Land together with other Jerusalem pilgrims to support government, churches and faith based entities to promote the fear of God, discipline, good governance to develop the nation.

He said as the country awaited the declaration of the Supreme Court's judgment, Ghanaians especially Christians should speak the truth to one another.

“With truth on our side, we will surely save Ghana from all evil,” he said.

Mrs Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, said government appreciated the cause of Christian pilgrims to Israel, adding that the formation of the Association was in the right direction.

She said the pilgrimage to the Holy Land would be more beneficial, if only it was planned, developed and managed in the manner that ensured the maximization of benefits and the elimination of the undesirable aspects.

“It's the desire of government that the pilgrimage will benefit more Ghanaians,” she said.

She tasked the Association to work assiduously to get things done to glorify God, assuring them of the Ministry's commitment to foster unity, peace and development.
