GOVERNMENT COMMITTED TO MAKE TAMALE AIRPORT INTERNATIONAL

Managing Director of Airport Group of Company,Madam Doreen Owusu Fianko has signed a commercial agreement for the upgrade of Tamale Airport to an international status to boost of economy.

She signed the memorandum of understanding to Brazilian company in Accra, called queiron galvao construction to embark on the construction project.

Madam Doreen stated that during construction of the Airport they will make sure that they increase the length to 400meters such that it can accommodate number of aircraft though the existen one is up to 2500meter.

She said it will make exportation easy and help to promote exportation of goods and service to Europe easy, once it will boost of economy.

Deputy Minister of Transport, Jefa Ativor express government commitment to lift the face of Tamale Airport to international as to boost of economy.

She said it is impotent for a growing country like Ghana to derive not less than one or more airport which will serve as the fastest and easy way of transportation of goods and service from one nation to another especially country like Europe where by transportation of export is the easiest channel one can pass through.

She said maintenance workshop will created for the service of aircraft, inasmuch as development of the savannah accelerated development plant will be derived.
