KUDOS TO THE ANGLOGOLD ASHANTI MALARIA CONTROL LIMITED

AngloGold Ashanti,Obuasi Mine should be commended for the fight against Malaria in parts of the country,this social responsibility of the internationally acclaimed mining company,started in the Obuasi Municipality some eight years ago when the company as part of it's social responsibility took it upon itself to introduce INDOOR RESIDUAL SPRAYING to fight the female anophelous mosquitoes.

Residents of Obuasi still benefit immensely from this free programme,as the malaria prevalence rate have reduced drastically.The company saw it as a great idea and extended it to other places.

Global Fund and the Ghana Health service came in to support the good works of AngloGold Ashanti,Obuasi Mine.With the financial backing from Global Fund,the Indoor Residual Spraying have been extended to parts of the country as,Upper Denkyira East and West Districts,Adansi South and North Districts,Amansie Central,Tarkwa and Axim. Other towns benefiting from this anti malaria programme are parts of Brong Ahafo,parts of Upper East and West Regions and still counting.

What excites me more is the rate at which the company is reducing unemployment rate in the various regions they are operating,young men who are willing are recruited into the Programme to help fight malaria.

The vice President,H.E Akwesi Amissah Arthur,in one of his speeches congratulated the company for their selfless contribution to mother Ghana.

Other companies should also follow suite what AngloGold Ashanti Malaria Limited is doing.More grease to their elbows.
