As part of the 2013 Mandela Day Celebration and the 95th birthday of the south Africa president Nelson Mandela, a three unite classroom block has been commissioned in his name as a hero in Africa continent.

The school was named 'Nelson Mandela Block' because of his contribution to the culture of peace and freedom in the globe.

H.E Madam J.T NDHLOXU South African High Commission said Nelson Mandela has been a lawyer and a freedom fighter, a political prisoner, a peacemaker and present therefore memories like such person should be recommended as a country.

She said Nelson Mandela Madiba over the years has been affectionately known by millions of people living around the content as symbol of wisdom, courage and integrity.

She said this at the commission of a three unite class room block for Baba Yara school in madina ,a subbed in Accra to upgrade the standard of student, and make them comfortable and easy .

H. E Janet charge uses of Nelson Mandela foundation to encourage people around the globe to perform 67 minutes of public service on Mandela day and one minute for every year of Mandela own service to humanity.

Corporate Service Executive of MTN Mrs. Cynthia Lumor said they recognition of Nelson Mandela's values and his dedication to the service of humanity as a humanitarian, in the fields of conflict resolution, race relations, promotion and protection of human right, reconciliation, gender equality and the rights of children and other vulnerable groups, as well as the upliftment of poor and underdeveloped communities.

She said it is the heartfelt of MTN to ease Baba Yara School and provide a serene environment for teaching and learning, last year, this makes the foundation committed to leaving a lasting legacy at this school when they cut the sod for the constriction of the building.

She said completing of the project cost GHC 134, 000 though the amount set for the project was not up to standard but intended to increase it due to the significant impact education brings to future generations.

She urge school authorities to make good use of the facilities and maintain it in way that preserves the school for future generations. Adding that the fundamental role teachers play in providing opportunities for students to develop and refine their inquiry skills, problem solving skills, critical and creative thinking skills, and communication skills.

Mrs. Cynthia pledge MTN commitment to support to Ghanaian society of achieving the Millennium development Goal of creating Universal Access to Basic Education.
